The fourth installment of Ruby Manor is upon us!

Join us on the 6th of April 2013 for another day of fun, interesting and thought-provoking ideas about Ruby and everything around it.

Ruby Manor is two things. The first, and most obvious, is the series of conferences held in London focussing on the Ruby programming language. The second is our manifesto about how we believe conferences could be run.

We place a strong emphasis on community involvement as part of building the conference. Join in on Vestibule to propose presentations, and to help select and improve proposals for others.

I want to give a presentation at Ruby Manor. Where's the Call  for Proposals? 

The community Call for Proposals process takes place at http://vestibule.rubymanor.org.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Nope, although obviously under-18's might find it harder to participate in any pub-based activities around Ruby Manor.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Ruby Manor 4.0 is in Central London, and so you are strongly, strongly advised to use public transport to come to the venue.

The closest underground stations are Great Portland Street (Ciricle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitain lines) and Regent's Park (Bakerloo line). There are also a number of busses that travel close tho the venue; check at http://tfl.gov.uk for more details.

We also strongly advise you to check Transport for London to find out about any weekend disruptions to travel.

Disabled parking is available at the venue but must be booked in advance, so please contact us on guvner@rubymanor.org if you'd like us to arrange it.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Bring your eyes, ears and brain. You can definitely bring a laptop, but don't expect to have continuous wifi access or power - hopefully you'll find the presentations sufficiently distracting. Bring a friendly smile and a thermos full of curiosity.

Try to leave any cynicism, snarkiness, grumpiness or blunt weaponry at home.

What if I get hungry or thirsty? Who is going to satisfy my basic human needs?

You'll be feeding and watering yourself at Ruby Manor, but thankfully we are in the middle of one of the biggest cities in Europe, and so finding sustenance isn't going to be a problem. We'll outline some of your options closer to the day.

We also have access to a café as part of the venue this year, so getting a coffee/tea fix should be easier than ever, and they'll be serving hot food at lunchtime if you'd rather not venture outside.

Is the venue accessible?

The area we're using for Ruby Manor is underground, but there are lifts to take you up and down.  There are disabled toilets on the same level and the café we have access to is also on the same level, so you won't have to become best friends with the bellboy.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes - just contact us via Eventbrite, or at guvner@rubymanor.org.

Can I update my registration information?

Probably? This is the first time we've used Eventbrite, but hopefully it will let us do that. In principle, absolutely.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Nah. You've probably got a smartphone, and showing us the email on that will be fine. We also understand there's an Eventbrite "app", which will also do just fine.

What is the refund policy?

If you realise that you can't come, just get in touch at guvner@rubymanor.org. Obviously the sooner you can do this the better, so we can let someone else use your spot, and so that we don't get landed with paying for the venue our of our own pockets. That wouldn't be cool, yeah?

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
